Mandi: An Arab Traditional Food

It is said that "When ur in Rome, be a Roman.", so as I am in the middle east.. I will say "When in Arabia, be an Arab."..!

After a year and a half living in the middle east, I have finally adjusted and been trying to adapt, live and eating like a local. The picture above is a traditional Arabian dish called Mandi. It is based in rice, meat (lamb or chicken) and spices. Unlike Biryani, it is not that spicy. If your not into spicy food, you will love it. And the chicken in it is so tender and juicy. I think they marinated the chicken overnight for it to be so tender and tasty and juicy. So if you gonna visit the middle east one day, Mandi is a must try food.

Cebu City: Dried Fish Bones

I chose dried fish over “Ginamos”. I like to eat noodles and dried fish as a side dish. When I visited my Aunt in Cebu, I saw for the first time a unique dried fish if you can say that, it was all made of bones and they called it dried fish bones. I never saw something like that here in Davao City, not even in our province. So, we bought some, had it fried and turns out to be so yummy, it tasted like fish tocino. In preparing it, it should be quick deep fry. And it’s best to eat it right after frying while it’s still crunchy.

Dried fish bones are usually for exports, the demand for it abroad is high. It’s kinda pricey too…  for bones… hahaha…

I don’t usually eat fish bones, but this one is an exception, I paid for  FISH BONES.
And for me, it’s worth it, I love tocino and fish bones tastes like tocino!
Super duper love Dried Fish Bones!
So, anyone out there in Cebu City has any plans in coming here in Davao soon?
You know what will be your “pasalubong” to me ha? Thank you in advance!

Sagada: Lemon Pie

Sagada is famous not only in their outdoor activities, they are also known for their food like the Pinikpikan, though I haven't tried it, their Sagada Coffee, which will I elaborate more on my future post and the famous Sagada Lemon Pie. In abundance of lemons in Sagada, a local made use of it by putting twist in pies. If you're into sour foods, this pie suits  you better. The sweetness of a regular pie added with a little bit of a tingy sour taste of a lemon is just a perfect combination. It is best partnered with their Sagada Coffee. Sagada Lemon Pie together with Sagada Coffee is just perfect in completing your awesomeness Sagada experience!

The ambience, the furniture and the you will be greeted with a pretty young looking staffs that you will be shock with their age, it just doesn't fit! hahaha
